Perhaps they don’t respond to conventional treatment? Acupuncture could be the solution
Just as you might have acupuncture to help with chronic pain or a particular type of illness, this type of therapy is also available for your pet to help with specific conditions.
If one of our vets thinks that your pet would benefit from acupuncture, or if you would like them to have an appointment, they will be referred to either Joanna or Alison – veterinary surgeons at our practice – who both hold the necessary qualifications and are members of the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists.
Effectiveness of Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a gentle and effective treatment with a high success rate at treating various conditions, including:
- Chronic skin conditions
- Muscle and ligament strains and sprains
- Respiratory conditions
- Stress disorders
- Back pain and disc disorders
- Hip dysplasia
- Post-operative recovery and injury rehabilitation
Despite including the insertion of needles, this treatment causes minimal discomfort to your pet; many animals find it relaxing and some have even been known to fall asleep during their appointment!
